Luchtsingel (Air canal) Rotterdam

What used to be the bustling heart of Rotterdam is now a blind spot dominated by rear sides and dilapidated buildings in the middle of the city. Hofbogen, Pompenburg, Delftsepoort and Centraal Districtare will be reconnected by a wooden pedestrian bridge, de Luchtsingel: created by and for citizens and businesses. The Luchtsingel is a chain of new places: construction sites become parks, dark corners are transformed into playgrounds and empty spaces into facilities. The Luchtsingel becomes the new artery in the heart of Rotterdam. Zonneveld ingenieurs supports this initiative and acts as structural engineer of the Luchtsingel.
