Sugarcity wins prize FIABCI

The project SugarCity (sugar silos CSM) in Halfweg, as designed by architects Soeters Van Eldonk in Amsterdam, has won the second prize in St. Petersburg in the category ' Environmental (Conservation-Rehabilitation) FIABCI Prix d'Excellence ' in the international project competition.
The project was selected because of the high quality of the area and plan development of the former sugar factory. According to the jury SugarCity is an excellent example of former industrial heritage which, preserving the existing buildings, has been redeveloped.

Earlier, in november 2011, the project won the FIABCI 'Prix d'Excellence The Netherlands Awards 2011'.
On 19 september 2007 the sugar silos also won the Benelux Aluminium in Renovation Award 2007.
