School Oscar REC, Apeldoorn

The building for the Oscar REC houses three different forms of special education and an ortho-pedagogical expertise centre. Each school has its own entrance and its own shape schoolyard, each with their own color and material. The entire building does have one joint identity. The individual entrances and schoolyards are as it were cut out from the main oval shaped building.
The oval facade has been made of natural stone, while the inner surfaces are finished with glass and steel.
Each separate school is organised around its own central staircase and the common gymnasium and the Centre of expertise are situated in the middle of the building.
