City Hall, Nieuwegein
3XN Architects from Aarhus, Denmark obtained the contract for the City Hall Nieuwegein in 2006 through an international competition.
The City Hall will house the local authorities as well as the central library, a social center, arts center, the meditation center, the CWI and the 'World shop'. There is also room for a few shops.
The municipality want to radiate warmth, pride, ambition and quality with this building. The design is light and spacious. The necessary transparency was aimed for partly by staggered floors, with a good view from ground level to the first four floors.
