Solaris Eclips, Amsterdam
"Solaris Eclipse 'is located in the office area Teleport around Sloterdijk station on the west side of Amsterdam. The building has a gross floor area of 4700 sqm and a half sunken parking garage. Solaris Eclipse is supported by 21 round glass columns with a diameter of 1.20 m on a grid of 7.20 m. These columns consist of 16 vertical, steel strips of only 10 x 60 mm filled in by clear glass stones and they carry three complete office floors with a total maximum load of 300 tons per column.
The facade of the office floors is made of slender steel columns of 70 x 140 mm with prefabricated glass stone panels.
The hollow core slabs of the floors span from facade to facade. Due to the desired transparency, the construction was made and detailed very slender.
The stability of the building is achieved by bracing in the form of bars Detan bars in steel, with portals filled in by glass stones at the location of the main and emergency staircases. The entire steel construction has a colored fireresistant coating system.
