To make the inner city of Tilburg more attractive and economically stronger, the municipality of Tilburg city decided to upgrade it center. The plan for the redevelopment of the Pieter Vreedeplein includes shops, apartments, restaurants, recreational facilities (including a cinema) and underground parking. Two medium-height apartment buildings on the edge of the Town Centre and Passage in the Telegraafstraat are also part of the plan. 
The design of the plans for the construction around the Pieter Vreedeplein came from Spanish architects Bonell i Gil, Barcelona. Bedaux de Brouwer Architects is responsible for part of the design, namely the exclusive homes and apartments in the IJzerstraat and the design for the mmedium-height residential building.
