The previous Shell terrain in Amsterdam has been transformed into a residential park named “Overhoeks”. 550 residences have been designed by Geurst & Schulze Architecten, Baneke, Van der Hoeven Architekten, Mecanoo Architekten Delft and the English architect Tony Fretton Architects.
The three residential buildings along the IJ-lake, have been designed by Álvaro Siza Arquitecto and Jo Coenen & Co Architekten.
The parking garage consists of 2 parts, A and B and contains 1 underground layer for a total number of 743 parking spaces.
For the parking facilities, the campus’ ground floor level has been ‘raised’. The parking garages have been built on the existing ground floor level, and the residential buildings have been built on top of the garage. The ground floor level of some residential buildings houses shops. The area between the two parking garages has been filled with sand and earth.
