Design and calculation of bearing structures
Zonneveld designs the most optimal bearing structure based on the BIM-model with advanced calculation software combined with in-house developed modules. For simulations for the testing of eartquake resistance Zonneveld has developed an integral solution, which enables the simultaneous simulation of the effects of the earthquake on the soil (ground layers) and the building. The virtual twin is subsequently enhanced with the information from the structural design.
Cost estimate
Based on our practical experience from the last 30 years, a cost estimate can be made for one or more structural designs. This enables the client to make the most optimal choices with regard to design and materials and also have an insight of the ecological performance score for these same choices.
Execution plan
At the earliest request we can translate the structural design into an execution plan, which the contractor can use to start the execution/build. This will increase the efficiency of the translation from design to execution and prevents costs from failures caused by misinterpretations.
Second opinion
In a second opinion we are able to provide a vision on an existing design with a focus on possible (costs) optimisations, sustainability options, assessment of proposed amounts for building material, alternative design possibilities, etc. We are also able to structurally assess a specific (structural) element, as for example a balcony support or the use of a light-weight floor (bollenvloer).
CC3-check
An important part of quality assurance is the 'four-eyes-principle' or dual authorisation. In accordance with the Eurocode and our own quality system, calculations and drawings are checked in-house against Consequence Class 1 and 2 (CC1 and CC2). For buildings in Consequence Class 3 (CC3) an external check is required.
We differentiate between a second opinion and a CC3 check, because the latter is aimed at following a procedure to ensure structural safety.
