The structure of the ENECO office consists of traditionally poured floors and columns. A very unique part of the construction is located below surface, where a part of the foundation forms a prestressed overpass over the metro tunnel. The office is an L-shaped building. The 64 metre high short wing is founded on the overpass. The height of the building has been limited to 17 storeys, because the high pressure on the foundation of the metro tunnel, could lead to unacceptable consolidation. The longer wing along the Rochussenstraat consists of offices and premises on ground level, above which 3 parking storeys have been built on and along the metro tunnel, which supposedly could lead to a slight settlement of this tunnel here as well. Measurements have shown that the calculated acceptable settlement has not been surpassed.

Hourglass

The Hourglass project is currently erected along the Zuid-As (South-axis) in Amsterdam, immediately adjacent to the NoMA-house building and consists of an 80 m tall new office building shaped like an hourglass. The building has a floor surface of approximately 35.000 m2 BVO and houses a mix of office function, extended stay hotel apartments and commercial functions. Over half of the office area (19.100 m2 BVO) has been rented by Loyens & Loeff. The building plot is located along the Parnassusweg at the Zuid-As of Amsterdam.
The tower will have an underground parking basement of 2 layers, a roof terrace and commercial area on the ground floor.
