Plot 1.1 is part of phase 1 of the Cruquius project. This project contains plot 1.1 en 1.2 and has two parking garages, four residential buildings and one office building. 
Plot 1.1 consists of two L-shaped residential buildings and houses 116 rental apartments with their own respective balconies or patios. Furthermore, 66 underground parking lots have been realised for the residents. The ground floor offers space for three office spaces.

living in a green environment, that is the main characteristic of the first residential buildings on the former Shell plot in Amsterdam. ING and Ymere have selected six architects to design the first 'un-Amsterdam-like' residences on the Northern shore of the IJ. 
The first 550 residences of the ING blocks have been designed by Álvaro Siza Arquitecto and Jo Coenen & Co Architekten. 
The parking garage consists of two parts, A and B, and contains one underground layer for a total of 743 parking spaces. 
For the purpose of the parking garage the ground surface has been raised. The parking garages have been placed on the former ground level. On top of these, the residences have been built. On ground level, several of the residential blocks contain retail spaces. The gap between the two parking garages has been filled with sand and soil.

Jakobijn

In the centre of Groningen city at the Boterdiep, an apartment building has been developed with 46 apartements called De Jakobijn. The building has a U-form and consists of 4 floors and a basement.
Since it is situated in an earthquake zone (PGA = 0,08g), base isolation has been integrated in the design of the building, to make it earthquake resistant. In the building, the base isolation has been applied between the foundation beams and the basement floors.
