living in a green environment, that is the main characteristic of the first residential buildings on the former Shell plot in Amsterdam. ING and Ymere have selected six architects to design the first 'un-Amsterdam-like' residences on the Northern shore of the IJ.
The first 550 residences of the ING blocks have been designed by Álvaro Siza Arquitecto and Jo Coenen & Co Architekten.
The parking garage consists of two parts, A and B, and contains one underground layer for a total of 743 parking spaces.
For the purpose of the parking garage the ground surface has been raised. The parking garages have been placed on the former ground level. On top of these, the residences have been built. On ground level, several of the residential blocks contain retail spaces. The gap between the two parking garages has been filled with sand and soil.
