The project De Nieuwe Liefde along the Da Costakade in Amsterdam was originally built as a wine warehouse in 1903. The derelict and compartmentalised building has been transformed into a light and open building with a large theater hall, that can fit up to 230 people, a smaller hall and a library. By using voids, stairs and pathways all storeys are visually connected. Daylight is brought in from above and at the back of the building a shallow patio is located to 'enlighten' the building even more.

The project consisted of the restauration of the monumental old building for the Dordrechts Museum for the permanent collection. The extension is for temporary exibitions and has been kept separate from the old building as a hoovering ‘stealth’ volume. Kraaijvanger architecten designed the exterior, Merkx + Girod Architecten designed the interior. The inner court has been roofed over, which creates a significant extension of the exibition area. By moving the entrance to the middle of the garden facade, the logistics of the building were also significantly improved. The entire museum was renovated at the same time.
Within the Dordrechts Museum is, apart from the exibitions, a shop, a restaurant and a library project.
